The American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) approves and maintains post-graduate fellowship programs that train qualified physicians in the art and science of oculofacial plastic surgery (OPS). These highly competitive two-year full-time fellowship positions are affiliated with prestigious academic institutions in the US and Canada. Graduates of these programs are eligible for membership in ASOPRS following completion of oral and written examinations and submission of an approved thesis. Fellowship applicants must have completed an ACGME-approved ophthalmology residency and be eligible for medical licensure in the state or province of the fellowship. In addition, a small number of fellowships are designated for international ophthalmologists who intend to return to their home country to practice.
ASOPRS Fellowships are divided into “even” and “odd” year groups. Programs train one fellow and operate on an “even” or “odd” year cycle. A few programs will train two fellows—one starting an odd year, one starting an even year—each with a separate official ASOPRS Program Director.
All fellowships participate in the SF Match. Fellowships may require additional application materials; applicants should check with each program to which they intend to apply.

December 1, 2023 Match Registration Opens Please note that although registration is open until the rank list deadline, applicants are encouraged to register as early as possible to allow time to apply and for interviews.
March 4, 2024 Deadline for applicants to complete the requirements for application distribution. All ASOPRS fellowship programs have agreed to abide by one deadline for application submission.
June 10, 2024 @ 12 PM (Noon) Pacific Match Deadline ALL rank lists must be submitted by 12:00 PM (noon) PT. After the deadline rank lists, choices will be locked and no changes can be made.
June 17, 2024 @ 9 AM Pacific Match Results Match results are made available to programs, applicants, and US medical schools through the SF Match system. A login is required to view results.
June 18, 2024 Post-Match Vacancies Announced Any vacancies which remain after the match will be announced on the Immediate Vacancies page. Vacancy listings are managed by the individual programs.
