Scientific Symposia Committee

Purpose
Strategically develop and implement the annual Scientific Symposia. 

Primary Responsibilities

Develop and implement the continuing medical educational content of annual Scientific Symposia.

  • The Scientific Symposia Director will lead the development of the educational content of the Fall Scientific Symposium.
  • The First Assistant Scientific Symposia Director shall lead the development of the educational content of the Spring Scientific Symposium.
  • The Second Assistant Scientific Symposia Director will assist the Scientific Symposia Director with development and implementation of the scientific educational content of the Fall Meeting.

Composition
1. Scientific Symposia Director, Chair (Voting Board Member, AAO Subspecialty Day Co-Chair)
2. Immediate Past Scientific Symposia Director (AAO Subspecialty Day Chair)
3. First Assistant Scientific Symposia Director
4. Second Assistant Scientific Symposia Director

Terms
The Chair shall be the Scientific Symposia Director and shall serve during their time in Office. Ex-officio members serve during their time in Office.

Time Commitment
40-50 hours per year
