Oral Exam Workgroup
Purpose
Develop and administer the oral qualifying exams for Society membership.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop questions for the oral qualifying examinations.
- Recruit and train oral examiners.
- Administer the oral qualifying exam.
- Serve as exam observers.
Composition
Composed of a Chair, Assistant Chair, and at least four (4) members.
Qualifications
Members shall have been actively involved in the past five (5) years in teaching OPS fellows and/or ophthalmology residents and have participated as an examiner for at least two years. The Chair shall have served as the Assistant Chair and have been actively involved in the past five (5) years in teaching OPS fellows and/or ophthalmology residents.
Terms
Members shall serve a two (2) year term and may be appointed to an additional two (2) year term. The Chair shall serve a two (2) year term and may be appointed to an additional two (2) year term.
Time Commitment
10-15 hours per year.
